RV Travels With the Brundidge Family
Like all moms, Sheletta Brundidge longs to go on vacations with her family. But with three of her four young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, traveling is complicated. A TSA encounter, being cooped up in a plane or spending nights in an unfamiliar hotel room could be too much for the children, leading to a panic attack or a meltdown instead of an enjoyable trip.
Sheletta dreamed of vacationing in an RV, where she could exercise more control over the environment for her kids.
So when Sheletta was chosen to be a contestant on Ellen’s Game of Games, Ellen asked the Minnesota mother what she would do with the $100,000 grand prize if she won. Sheletta had her answer ready to go. She told Ellen, and the national audience, that she wanted nothing more than to buy an RV for her family.
But it wasn’t meant to be. Sheletta’s game show challenge was to straddle a bucking cannon and outlast other contestants. She almost made it, but got knocked off and was denied moving on to the jackpot round for the prize money.
When she lost the contest, she also lost all hope of ever seeing her family take to the open road in a Class A recreational vehicle.
But God had a big fat blessing awaiting the Brundidge family in the form of a generous entrepreneur.
In a Twitter giveaway, Camping World’s Marcus Lemonis gifted Sheletta and her family with a 2020 Thor Freedom Rider.
