Comcast donates to NEAR Food Shelf at Xfinity store opening in Crystal, Minn.

To mark its new Xfinity store opening in Crystal, Minn., Comcast donated $2,500 to NEAR Food Shelf, furthering the company’s commitment to the communities where it operates. The new store, located at 5606 W. Broadway in Crystal, is Comcast’s 16th Xfinity retail location in the Twin Cities.

For the past 50 years, NEAR Food Shelf has served the Crystal community, feeding an average of 25 families per day. A nonprofit volunteer organization, NEAR is supported through a cooperative effort of area churches, businesses and civic organizations.

“We’re just excited to be here and connect individuals and businesses to what matters most,” said Kalyn Hove, Regional Senior Vice President, Comcast Midwest. “When we enter a community, we are committed to partnering with the community.”

Marvin Walker, Jr., Xfinity store manager in Crystal, is excited to welcome customers to the new location, where they can learn about the latest technology, receive personalized support, including live demos and hands-on account management services, and exchange and upgrade equipment, pay their bill and more.

For local businesses interested in the latest in internet and technology solutions, the store has a dedicated space for Comcast Business customers and prospects to discuss their business technology needs.

The Crystal location features an interactive design and provides a destination for visitors to experience the complete line of Xfinity products and services, including Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Video, Xfinity Mobile, and Xfinity Home Security.

Local community members showed their support during Xfinity’s Crystal store opening ribbon cutting on Oct. 11, including Jim Adams, Mayor of Crystal, staff from NEAR Food Shelf, members of the Crystal Chamber of Commerce, community activist and media personality, Sheletta Brundidge, and several Comcast executives and employees.

“We are happy to welcome Comcast to Crystal as the location for their newest Xfinity store,” said Mayor Adams. “The city knows how important access to the newest technology is, and with the store’s prime location, it is easier than ever for Crystal customers to access the latest technology and stay connected.”

Customers can book appointments online ahead of time through Xfinity’s website. The Crystal location is open Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
